The hard felt roller has a steel shaft forming the hub, on which there is mounted a set of rings of hard felt. These are stampings from a sheet of hard felt produced by treating with resin, a laminate formed by fulling with a needle a support and a textile mattress. The rings are mounted on the shaft and compressed axially to form a compact roller, whose periphery is ground to size. The felt sheet can be formed by a single supporting layer, or several layers of felt and several of supporting cloth. the roller is for the transport of metal or plastic sheets, textiles during dyeing etc., and avoids slippage or damage by sharp sheet edges. |
