PURPOSE:To perform very efficient measurement, by providing a plurality of counters, performing parallel counting with a specified period being delayed, respectively, and displaying the result. CONSTITUTION:A pulse signal PS which is transmitted from a measuring instrument such as a gas meter passes through a pulse shaping circuit 1 and is counted by n(>=2) number of counters 21-2n at a period T. Said counters are sequentially reset by a reset signal CR at the period which is delayed by T/n. A gate 3, to which outputs C1-Cn of the counter 21-2n are connected, is controlled by a control signals CS. A counted value CG, which is selectively outputted from a timing control circuit 4 and the gate circuit 3 which sequentially select the counted values C1-Cn from the counters 21-2n immediately before the reset, is displayed on a present value display 6 as a present value NV, via a present value display control circuit 5. The maximum value MV is displayed on a maximum value diaplay 8. The present value and the maximum value are compared with each other in a comparator 9. If the present value NV is latger than the maximum value MV, updating is performed by an updating circuit 10. |
