Pressure sensitive prods. consist of (a) plastics (esp. vinyl) film and (b) a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive contg. non-layered metal flakes. A support layer, e.g. of non-woven synthetic fibres, may be interspersed between the plastics film and the adhesive layer and the composite may be provided with a release layer. - The plastic film is pref. 0.05-0.5 mm thick and the adhesive layer is pref. 0.013-0.05 mm thick. The metal flakes are e.g. of aluminium, pref. used in an amt. of 5-20 wt.%, esp. 10-15 wt.% on the adhesive layer. The adhesive used is pref. an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive. - Presence of the metal flakes in the adhesive layer gives prods. with increased adhesive power and improved permanency of bonding to the substrate. Prods. are useful e.g. as vinyl roof coverings for cars or as decorative surfacing materials.
