Slaked lime soln. is prepd. in a dissolution tank (1) with an agitator, where the lime is fluidized y water transported through the water inlet pipe (6) at a constant flow rate. The feed inlet (3) and weir (4) are located in the top section of 1, and the agitator and 6 are in the conically shaped bottom section of 1. The soln. is agitated by a turbine impeller, circulation pump, or water ejector. The bottom section with a inverse conical shape decreases the height of the fluidized particles so that contact of the slaked lime and water is more effective.
