The safety release binding is fitted to a ski (9) and forms part of the sole plate (3). It comprises a yoke (8) made from spring wire, the free ends (13) being held in the sole plate to form a pivot. The section (7) between the yoke arms provides a pivot for a plate (1), its front end fitted with two rollers (4, 5) bearing on the top of the ski boot sole (2) at the toe. A catch (21) each side ensures the plate contacts the boot sole. The catches are adjustable for release by a side or upwards pull.
