<p>The flying machine lands and takes off vertically, flies horizontally in any direction, and can hover and stop. It is non-polluting and has helium-filled balloons and simple jet engines. The latter are tubular single or double jets using air, and propulsion is by nozzles pivoting on hollow ball-joints working in pyrolytic graphite bearings. They contain chambers opened and shut by perforated control panels. The pilot's seat turns on a ball-type slewing ring, and the balloon framework is of umbrella shape.</p> |
