The shelf or cupboard part of the furniture unit consists in its finished form of a prefabricated body (20) made from paper and size or synthetic resin wherein the inside of this body is provided with drawer guides (22) and shelf or supports (31) for housing the actual drawers or shelf-bases. A back wall can be fitted and glued into the rear opening of the paper body and both these parts are pref. coated with a clear foil. The cupboard or shelf body can be unwound from a paper web. The drawer guides (22) can be fastened to main supports (23) supported on a base (24) fixed to the inner base of the body.
