Drum for optical scanner - uses removable drum to carry original for scanning and has optical alignment facility to check register and placement

Appts. facilitates accurate placement of an original, to be reproduced, on the drum of a scanner. Optical checking is used to ensure accurate alignment and register. The appts. (1) comprises a drum to carry the document mounted between clamping end plates on a turning axle at one end, and with a release lever (12) mechanism at the other. An optical scanning head (26) can be moved the full width of the drum and used to observe the original on the drum in any part.
