PURPOSE:To realize a high capacity and to improve the reliability by composing a copper wire covered beforehand with a lead plating or an alloy wire mainly of copper as a grid body, and using such a wire composition for an anode plate. CONSTITUTION:At the central part 1 of a grid body made by composing and processing a copper wire covered prelimenarily with a lead plating, outer ribs 2 and 2' at the sides of the grid body are formed of the copper wire covered prelimenarily with the lead plating in the same manner. The part 3 to be the upper rib and the lug of the grid body, and the part 4 to be the lower rib and the foot of the grid body are made of a lead alloy, they are incorporated with the parts 1, 2, and 2' by a gas welding, and such a grid body is used as an anode plate. As a result, a lead storage battery with good discharge performance, low cost, high capacity, and high reliability can be obtained. |
