<p>The diagnostic device for measuring the quantity of fluid inside the skull of a patient, is based on an encephalograph. At one end of a light guide protection tube (9) with a protective helical coil (7) around it is the volumetric measuring unit. At the other end is the measuring probe (16) housing a photoelectric sensor (13). This end of the light guide (10) is in line with the sensor, i.e. on the central axis of the tube. Between them is a funnel shaped light guide termination (12) also enclosing the sensor. Around this is an end sleeve (14) matching the shape of the termination.</p>
