PURPOSE:To enable to supply optimum lean mixture fuel without changing the shape of a combustion chamber, by providing an air supplying means in the vicinity of an intake valve which is cmmunicated with an intake pipe for supplying fuel obtained by mixing gasoline and air into a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Air supplied from an air cleaner 1 is passed through a throttle valve 5 and mixed with fuel supplied from a fuel injection valve 4. The air-fuel mixture thus obtained is supplied to a cylinder 15 via an intake pipe. On the other hand, air introduced from a purge-air inlet port 8 is supplied to a communicating passage 10 via a by-pass valve 7 which is interlocked with the throttle valve 5 by a link 6. In case that the engine has a plurality cylinders, purge air is supplied to the plurality of cylinders separately via the communicating passage 10. An air injection pipe 12 branched from the communicating passage 10 is opened in the vicinity of an intake vale 11 for causing back-flow of air- fuel mixture when air is supplied from the air injection pipe 12. |
