The open side (16) of the outlet pipe (11) of the machine, e.g. coffee maker is hermetically sealed by a slide-in member (12) provided in different planes with deflector walls (17, 18, 22, 23) and which can be moved in the outlet pipe (11) which is trapezoidal in shape and open at one end. The outlet pipe (11) has a fluid inlet pipe (13) in the area of the closed narrow side (15) and a fluid outlet opening (14) in the area of the open wide side (16). The deflector walls reduce the high speed at which the fluid flows in from the inlet pipe so that the rate of flow at the outlet is constant. A constant flow of fluid free of turbulence is further enhanced if a rectangular cutout (21) is made in the slide-in member (12) associated with the fluid outlet opening (14).
