The crossbow has a stalk (1) with a longitudinal groove (2) and a U-shaped profile rail (3) which is mounted therein and is used for guiding the clamping-bolt sliding piece (5) and the arrow. The clamping bolt (4) has a disc-shaped attachment (6) with a groove (7) for guiding the crossbow string (8). The bow (9) can be adjusted and fixed by means of an externally accessible screw (10). The bow ends have bolts (15, 16) with slots (19, 20) in which the end loops (8'') of the string are held by means of bolts (21, 22). The aiming device consists of a sight frame (23) with an angle bracket (25) which is fitted thereon, has a peep-sight aperture (26) which is laterally adjustable and can be fixed by means of a screw (24), and of a bead sight (29) which is adjustable in height and can be fixed by means of a screw (28). In consequence, a light structurally simple crossbow is created with good firing performance. <IMAGE>
