<p>The system for establishing an electrostatic field in a room uses commercial fluorescent lamp housings (3) to carry the electrodes. The fluorescent lamp tubes (4) are supported inside ceiling mounted housings, and the casing itself forms an electrode. The field lines (9) are then directed vertically downwards. A metal grid (5) forms the other electrode, and is insulated from the remainder of the casing (3) by an insulating layer (6). The grid is then connected by a cable (7) to a suitable generator. Alternative designs include different suspension and insulation arrangements.</p> |
