<p>Wet textile webs are dehydrated by conveying them on a perforate carrier and subjecting the webs to partial vacuum at two locations whose distance from one another corresponds to a multiple of the pitch of the perforations and additionally a fraction (one half) of the pitch. Method is esp. applicable to knitted goods. Perforated carrier can be an endless conveyor belt or a drum provided at spaced intervals, whereby the drum may be provided internally with one cylinder which is provided with two peripherally spaced suction ports or with two cylinders each provided with a suction port.</p> |
