The heel clamp assembly on a safety ski binding includes a knee lever joint(os, us). The heel locating lever (ah) is attached to the free end of the upper clamp lever (os). By restricting the pivot movement of the upper lever, the heel clamp can locate the heel firmly, for downhill skiing or allow some freedom for lifting the heel, when walking or climbing. The variable restriction to the clamp lever movement is produced by a spring loaded cable (b) which is attached to the fixed clamp lever (us). By moving a cable roller lever (g) towards or away from the clamp lever pivot (k), its pivot movement is restricted proportionally.
|
