An electrical knife for cutting up deep frozen food with a high water content consists of a metal plate which is subdivided by a slot into a narrow conductor along the cutting edge. The passage of an electrical current from a powerful battery in the handle heats this conductor enough to perform a neat cut. This wastes less substance than use of a saw. Deep frozen food can be divided into clean cut portions without having to wait for unfreezing.
