<p>A first cutting station 7 has vertical rotary saws 9 for trimming off the side edges of the trunk 2 and a second cutting station 17 for cutting the resulting trimmed trunk into planks is provided with two assemblies of vertically- spaced horizontal rotary saws, one on each side of the machine. The trunk is fed through the first cutting station by endless chains provided with spiked hooks for gripping the trunk. The trimmed trunk is fed to the second cutting station and the planks are discharged from the machine by spiked rollers. <IMAGE></p> |
