A slider for zip fastener is provided with means for automatically locking the slider in position on the zip fastener, said means comprising a locking member and a spring member operatively associated therewith. These two members are held in mutually supporting relationship to each other so that the locking member can follow a controlled locus of movement during its locking operation.
