PURPOSE:To confirm easily the normal functions of both an automatic measurement device of transmission characteristics and an exchange, by interlocking the self-diagnosis function of said measurement device with a changeover switch part of the exchange. CONSTITUTION:An automatic measurement device of transmission characteristics (ATEM) performs the manual or automatic self-diagnosis and therefore starts a processor CP via an input/output control part IOC and a BUS to transfer the information necessary for a self-diagnosis function. Receiving this information, the CP connects an oscillator OSC of the ATEM and a level meter LM by means of a changeover switch SW. Then the OSC and the LM measure the transmission loss, etc. via the SW in accordance with a self-diagnosis program and diagnose themselves the measured value by the self-diagnosis program. If a fault occurs, a print-out process is carried out. At the same time, an instruction is given to the CP to inhibit the start given from another ATEM. Thus it is possible to confirm easily the normal functions of the ATEM and the SW. |
