Adjustable fluid cyclone discharge - uses sets of adjusting rings with conical inner surface mounted in cylindrical socket

The fluid cyclone discharge can be adjusted to required separating characteristics of the cyclone. The conical lower end of cyclone (1) fitted with abrasion-resistant lining (2) has a loose flange (3) on its turned-over edge. The assembly by which the adjustment is made consists of cylindrical socket (5) with welded-on flanges (4) and (6) on its end. Flange (4) mates with loose flange (3) and flange (6) with flange (7) fitted to optional discharge piping. The upper part of socket (5) contains sets of adjusting rings (8) with conical inner surfaces, forming a tapered discharge surface when assembled. The sets of rings are held in place by sets of standard rings (9) and flange (7).
