Process for the preparation of new sulphur-containing diaryl and oxygen-containing diaryl compounds

Compounds of formula: <IMAGE> where one of A and B is O, S, SO or SO2 and the other O, are prepared by reaction of the corresponding compounds ClC6H4-A-C6H4BH and Hal-Alk-R. The compounds obtained, especially the esters (R = COOC2H5) and the cyano compounds (R = CN), can then be converted to the corresponding derivatives, especially to carboxylic acids and their salts or to amidines. These compounds are novel and can be used for the treatment of circulatory disorders, especially cardiovascular diseases.
