PURPOSE: To provide a carpet which can be brought into contact with a floor surface in a good condition with a small specific gravity, a good durability and shock absorption, and a low electrical insulation resistance by forming a non-oriented fiber layer on the under surface of a board with protrusions and a board to even loads on the upper surface of the board, and supporting a piled fiber layer fixed on latex, etc., and a reinforcing middle layer made of bitumen placed under the piled fiber layer by the board. CONSTITUTION: Protrusions 11 are formed on a board 10 made of a fiber band. The floor side of the board is supported by a non-oriented fiber 12, and the upper side is supported by a metallic plate 13 with adhesives on the under surface so that it can be peeled off. An elastic step layer is supported by the metallic plate 13. This elastic step layer has a bitumen layer 14 which can be hardened on the bottom and a latex layer 15 above the layer 14, and piled fiber 16 is planted on the upper surface of the elastic step layer. All of these layers are firmly connected so that they won't be peeled off each other. Each protrusion 11 is filled with cement 17 added with fiber. Such a carpet can be relatively thin, in which pathways suitable for electricity or as optical cables are formed, and can be stable under relatively high pressure, and, at the same time, is highly insulated. |
