PURPOSE:To chemically remove the nitrogen component in waste water with good efficiency without discharging ammonia into the atmosphere, by applying aeration stirring to waste water containing nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen and kjeldahl nitrogen in the presence of sodium thiosulfate. CONSTITUTION:Aeration stirring is applied to waste water containing one or more of nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen and Kjeldahl nitrogen in the presence of sodium thiosulfate. In the other method, solium thiosulfate is added to the above-mentioned waste water and a minute amount of one or more of sodium sulfate, hydrazine and oxalic acid is further added thereto to perform aeration stirring. By this simple method, the nitrogen component in waste water can be chemically removed with good efficiency without discharging ammonia into the atmosphere. |
