In the production of mouldings with fabric covering on at least one side, in particular for motor vehicle interior linings, a high-bulk textile fibre non-woven fabric treated with a dry, heat-activatable binder, for example phenolic resin, is covered with a compressible fibre layer treated with heat-activatable binder and having a filter effect, a heat-activatable adhesive is applied to the fibre layer and the fabric placed thereon. The material composite thus obtained is subsequently hot pressed in a single pressing operation at a suitably high temperature.
