PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of the titled circuit, by a method wherein a raster data and a letter code data are respectively attached by an address, stored in a buffer memory and the address signal is discriminated with a decoder in reading and switched to a printer buffer or a plotter buffer. CONSTITUTION:A buffer 1 is supplied with an address at the input terminal ADDRESS from the address bus AB, a chip select signal at the input terminal CS, and a write signal MWR respectively at the input terminal WR. The input of the data to this buffer memory 1 and the output of the memorized data are connected to try, state, buffers 3, 4 and the input terminal ADDRESS of memory ROM2 via an input/output terminal DATA. Thereby, the same memory area of one buffer memory can be easily switched only by alterating the address fro reading data as a printer buffer for imaging letter information by designating a letter pattern or as a plotter buffer for imaging the pattern with a raster data, to be used.
