PURPOSE:To avoid measuring man-hours and measuring errors by providing a means for counting the time till the reception of reply to a terminal equipment to allow the terminal equipment to measure the inquired response time to a host device automatically and accurately. CONSTITUTION:The titled system consists of a host device 2 connected to a terminal equipment 1 performing the data processing based on inputted data to be processed by the operator and outputting the result of processing and replying the inquiry from the terminal equipment 1, a measuring instruction means 3 provided to the terminal equipment 1 and operating and instructing the measurement of the response time to the inquiry and a time count means 4 provided to the terminal equipment 1, started as soon as the inquiry is sent based on the instruction of the measuring instruction means 3 and counting the time till the reception of the response. Thus, the time count means 4 measures the response time at the inquiry by the instruction of the measuring command means 3.
