Chain bearer roller for endless tracked vehicles - has soft steel wheel with hardened press fit rim and bonded rubber tyre

The chain bearer roller consists of a pressed soft steel wheel (5) with a centralising hole (11) and fixing stud openings (10). The outer wheel edge is cranked (17) to increase rigidity and provide a seat for the hardened steel rim. The rim is a press fit on the wheel cylindrical outer surface (13) and joined by welding (8) at its outer edge (3) to the wheel edge (7). The opposite side of the rim is turned inwards to form a flange (2). The flange inner edge is welded to the wheel and has a slant of 2 deg. to 10 deg. from a flat radial surface. The rim is completed by a bonded rubber tyre (12).
