Protective safety jacket for drivers and passengers - has double-sides forming inflatable cushion between wearer and other objects

The double-sided safety jacket is made of a soft non-combustible material. Air can be pumped into the cavities by an air pump via air lines so that a protective air cushion is formed between the wearer and any other object in the event of an accident. The two sides of the jacket can be folded in concertina-fashion so that with a lateral restriction in the cross-sectional area caused by the air pressure in the jacket the latter expands up and down to protect both the head and the lower torso. An electric switch can be incorporated which operates until sufficient air has flowed into the jacket whilst the air can be relased from the jacket by an air valve.
