<p>In the booster system the boost pressure is applied to the control valve in a direction to urge it towards a closed position in opposition to the operating pressure which urges the control valve towards the opposite, open position. The control valve may incorporate a control piston working in a complementary bore and having different areas exposed to the boost and operating pressures. Pref. the control valve comprises a lever mechanism connected at one end to the stepped control piston, the lever having a T-shaped lever mechanism with valve heads at opposite ends conrolling the connection of an atmospheric pressure and a vacuum or exhaust, respectively to one side of a movable wall in the busher assembly.</p> |
