<p>A traction device for applying to the foot after corrective toe operatins comprises two cup-shaped portions (14, 10) that are adjustably secured together (13) and are respectively strapped to the heel and to the ball of the foot. The arch portion (10) has an extension (20) generally parallel to the toes. Secured to the extension (20) by a rubber cord (24) is a fastening of safety-pin or strap type for attaching to a toe. The end of the cord (24) is fastened to one of pins (22) on the extension (20) and the cord exerts traction on the toe. Both portions (14, 10) incorporate soles on their under surfaces and are made of plastics material. The device is used in the treatment of hallux valgus.</p> |
