Improved interferometric amplification is achieved by separating (21, 22, 31, 32) the input signal in accordance with the signals projection on two orthogonal reference signals, with one of the reference signals capable of following the instantaneous frequency of the input signal. The separated signals are further separated (41, 42) into constant amplitude variable phase signal pairs defining the projected signals, and the constant amplitude signals are amplified (51, 52, 53, 54) and appropriately combined (61, 62, 63) to form a signal that is an amplified replica of the input signal. |
