Synthetic ester lubricants - contg. mineral oil and methacrylate copolymer as pour point depressant

Lubricant compsns. comprise (a) a synthetic ester base oil derived from a pentaerythritol or trimethylolpropane and a 2-12C organic acid and (b) a pour-point depressant comprising a mixt. of a mineral lubricating oil with a pour point of -40 to +35 degrees F and a copolymer of >=2 4-18C alkyl methacrylates having a mol. wt. of 5000-500,000. The lubricants can be used in bus or truck turbine engines. The mineral oil and methacrylate copolymer act synergistically.
