Speed change mechanism using spaced, rotatable input and output plates, and idlers in rolling point contact with same, and having freedom to oscillate relative to their own guidance shaft about the perpendicular passing through the contact points. The connection between the idlers and the guidance shaft is by entrainment members which can be displaced along the shafts, fix the idlers to the shafts by rotation, and enable oscillating deflection of the idlers about the perpendicular.
