CONTROL DEVICE FOR DATA RECORDING OF FLOPPY DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent overwrite characteristics from being dropped even if a magnetic head suitable for a high recording mode is used by DC-erasing a recording area in case of a low recording mode, and recording data in the erased area. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a magnetic head having a read/write gap suitable for a disk with high recording density and a means for setting up either one of the high recording mode A and the low recording mode B. The magnetic head is driven and controlled so that data are recorded in the recording area in the low recording density disk DC-erased by the erasing means based upon said gap when setting up the mode B and data are recorded in the high recording density disk when setting up the mode A. The device prevents resolution in the mode A and in overwrite characteristics in the mode B from being deteriorated and execute the sure reading/writing of data.
