<p>Tyre tread compsn. comprises 100 pts. wt. elastomer and 10-120 pts. compatible plasticiser of low f. pt., preF. -20 degrees C, comprising a (di)ester, an aromatic, aliphatic or alicyclic polyester which is opt. unsatd. or branched, or an organic phosphate. The tread has imporved grip on icy road surfaces and is partic. suitable for use in winter. The plasticiser is pref. dioctyl, dibutyl or isodecyl phthalate, or dioctyl adipate or sebacate. The compsn. pref. also contains 10-80 pts. hydrocarbon oil plasticiser. General purose tyre contains a butadiene-styrene copolymer as elastomer. For winter use the elastomer is natural rubber, synthetic polyisoprene, polybutadiene or ethylene propylene copolymer.</p> |
