The central heating installation comprises a reserve tank of water (9) heated by solar energy, radiators (1) controlled by thermostatic taps (2), a pipe (15a-14b) for conveying water from the reserve tank to the radiators, a pipe (B-K) for returning the water from the radiators to the reserve tank, and an auxiliary boiler (4). Two three-way mixing valves (12a, 12b) are mounted in the supply pipe (14-14), each having a first input (15, 15) connected to the reserve tank of water (9) and a second input (14, 14) connected to the boiler (4). Two actuators (21a, 21b) with membranes (20a, 20b) automatically and continuously regulate the flow rates of water admitted to the two inputs of each valve, the regulation depending on the demand for heat from the thermostatic taps (2), with priority being given to the reserve tank (9) heated by solar energy. Energy is thus saved in the boiler.
