An appts. for regulating the pressure of a fluid contained in an enclosure communicating with a reservoir in which the fluid is stored comprises a received communicating with the enclosure. Fluid can be fed to the receiver by one of the pipes at a controlled rate. The receiver has baffles arranged so that a flow is established from the enclosure to the receiver only during a redn. in flow into the receiver. The baffles direct the fluid fed to the receiver by one of the two pipes towards the other and oppose direct flow between the pipes and the enclosure. The appts. includes controls which regulate the rate of feeding the fluid and instruments which detect the pressure of the fluid in the enclosure and actuate the controls. The recipient is pref. within the enclosure. The device is partic. adapted for regulating the pressure of a hot liq. contained in an enclosure and which transfers heat in a user circuit, e.g. in a nuclear reactor cooled by water. The pressure of the hot liq. can vary according to changes in temp. and therefore in liq. vol. The method limits the exchange of heat between the hot liq. in the enclosure and the cold liq. in the reservoir during pressure regulation.
