The process comprises polymerising 4-methylpentene and 4-8C alpha-olefin polymerised in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of ethylhydroxane oligomer and a catalyst system. The catalyst consists of TiCl3 and diethylaluminium chloride in a wt. ratio of 3-5:1.
