An absorber for a solar energy collector consists of two metal plates welded together, with a heat transfer fluid circulating between them. The metal plate which is exposed the sun incorporates a number of shallow cavities with slightly inclined sides. The cavities are pref. in the form of a paraboloid of revolution or of a spherical segment, and arranged in quincunx. Compared to existing collectors the capacity of the collector for water is reduced to a min. and the absorption surface is improved, so that the energy collected is greater, partic. from incident radiation which is not perpendicular to the plane of the collector, although the collector is maintained in a fixed position and does not have to follow the sun's movement. The cost of fabrication is low.
|
