Automatic fire alarm system - uses fire extinguishers to maintain magnetic detector inoperative and removal of extinguisher from support triggers sound and visual alarms

The fire alarm system uses a cylinder type fire extinguishers (10). Each extinguisher is fixed on a support (11) on which is a contactor wired into common alarm circuit for a group of extinguishers. Actuation of the contactor by opening of supply circuit triggers a common sound alarm and visual indicators. Each extinguisher acts on its associated contactor via a magnetic presence detector (16). This detector (16) is fitted so that it actuates the alarm circuit in all positions other than the position in which it is maintained by the extinguisher itself.
