<p>Integrated appts. is described for taking successive portions of plastics tape from a spool supported on a turntable, applying adhesive to one face of the tape and then applying the tape as required to a series of sachets or bags being cut and welded from continuous folded film by ancillary mechanisms of the same machine. Used esp. for sealing or reinforcing plastic bags with tapes of a material which will not weld directly to the bag, e.g. for applying tapes of high density polyethylene to bags of low density polyethylene film. Adhesive application during mfr. allows various combinations of bag/tape and adhesive materials to be continually matched.</p> |
