<p>V slags are processed by (a) oxidising and roasting the slag with alkali metal salts, (b) leaching the roasted material, and (e) pptg. V from the leaching soln. by means of H2SO4 at an elevated temp. Cr is removed from the soln. by adding a hydroxide giving a ppte. which is removed, and the waste soln. is utilised for leaching the roasted prod. in (a). The process is more economical as water consumption is reduced, and by recycling the waste soln. environmental pollution is prevented.</p> |
