<p>The chain of flat empty wrappings is formed from an endless hose. Successive sections of the wrapping (1) have transverse weakened zones (2a, 2b), near which a closing device (3a, 3b) is fitted, drawing the hose into a neck. The weakened zones can be weakened lines, typically perforations, there being fewer of the latter near the edges when folded flat, to give increased strength at these points. They can take the form of round holes near the edges and a series of slits further in. The closing devices can be conventional clips with string loops (4a, 4b) inserted in them. Perforation can be carried out before the clips are fitted.</p> |
