Electrostatic copier has a replaceable photosensitive unit which can be fastened to a carrier, e.g. a drum, in the copier. The object is to have a unit with an easily interchangeable photosensitive layer. The leading edge (21) of the photosensitive layer (1) is hooked over several screw head fasteners (19) across the width of the drum, or other carrier, and the layer (1) fed around the drum (3) where it makes adhesive contact with the drum surface. The photosensitive layer (1) is longer than the peripheral distance around the drum (3) so that there is an overlap at the beginning (29) to cover the screw fasteners (19).
