PURPOSE:To facilitate the synthesis of a picture by forming a prescribed area of a picture data of an original picture into a blank area and inserting the picture data from a picture memory means to the blank area with an optional magnification. CONSTITUTION:A CCD 14 reads an original picture and its picture data is inputted to a monitor picture memory circuit 201 via a log amplifier 21, an A/D converter 22 and a shading correction circuit 23. A prescribed area of a picture data is formed into a blank area by the monitor picture memory circuit 201 and the picture data from the picture memory is inserted to the blank area while being magnified by using a clock from a variable magnification subscanning clock generator 211. The picture data outputted from the monitor picture memory circuit 201 is fed to a printer head section 31 via a masking processing circuit 24, a monitor picture tone setting circuit 202, an electric variable magnification circuit 210 and a halftone processing circuit 25. |
