Heat exchanger has a heat transfer space for the liquid to be heated, a heat transfer space for the fluid to be heated a heat transfer wall and a sepg. partition inside it. There is an inlet which discharges below the partition and an outlet which collects from above it and forms an annular passage around the inlet. The heat transfer surface forms a housing around the partition, being mounted at a distance from it. The unit is convex lens shaped, having both inlet and outlet mounted on one side. It is formed from two dishes welded together. It can be rectangular esp. square. The partition is joined to the inlet line and has a reinforcement ring surrounding it. Used as a heat recuperator e.g. in outlet flues and provides good heat transfer with very simple construction.
