PURPOSE:To judge details of a disturbance by using at least more than one optical pulses with different wavelengths as monitor light to compare loss values in back scattered light thereof. CONSTITUTION:More than one optical pulses with different wavelengths are made to pass a point of disturbance within an optical fiber line and more than one light loss values can be detected. For example, in case a uniform bending occur in an optical fiber within the optical cable, a difference is caused between light losses. But in case a bending not uniform occurs in the optical fiber within the optical cable, there is no difference between light losses. Thus, details of a disturbance can be judged by comparing light losses obtained from the more than one optical pulses with different wavelengths. |
