PURPOSE:To attain writing which obtains an output signal at a block error rate in a range specified with a CD specification by providing a rigid layer harder than a substrate on the rear side of a light absorbing layer, and forming a pit only on the layer on the substrate side. CONSTITUTION:A laser absorbing layer 2 is irradiated with the laser light 2, a layer 6 on a light reflecting layer 3 side is formed of a layer more difficult to thermally deform compared with the layer on a substrate 1 side with the light absorbing layer 2 as a reference, and the energy of the laser absorbing layer 2 generated by the laser light is mainly applied to the layer on the translucent substrate 1 side. As a result, convex, waveform or concave pit 5 is formed on the layer on the translucent substrate 1 side. Thus, a regenerative signal in the range of the block error rate specified by the CD specification is obtained. |
