PURPOSE: To protect a front mirror requiring high sunbeam reflectance from moisture and heat by interposing a zinc sulfide layer for improving adhesion between a silver layer and an Al2 O3 layer on the outside of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A silver layer, an Al2 O3 layer and an SiO2 layer are successively laminated on the outside of a substrate to obtain a protected weather and wear resistant sunbeam converging front mirror. At this time, an Ni-Cr alloy layer acting as an adhesive layer is preferably interposed between the substrate and the silver layer. The silver layer may be practically made of pure silver or may be made of a silver alloy contg. Ni, Cr, etc. The front mirror is protected from all weathers and wear by sand by interposing a zinc sulfide layer between the silver layer and the Al2 O3 layer, and high reflectance of the entire mirror stack can be maintained. |
